Placing Your Collector Car In Storage

Hey everyone, my name is Kirk. Welcome to my site about preparing your collector car for a climate controlled storage unit. After completing my first collector car rebuild, I was worried about weathering and pest damage, as those are common problems in my area. I did not want the snow, rain and sunlight to wreak havoc on the interior or exterior surfaces. I was also concerned about rats running through the engine bay and chewing up the wires. Placing the vehicle in storage was the best way to prevent these problems. My site will cover all of the tasks you need to complete before placing your car in a protective storage unit.

3 Great Ways You Can Make Your Next Move Less Stressful

by Leonard Bowman

At some point, you may have to move into a new home or apartment. This can be quite stressful because there are so many aspects you have to manage. So that this process doesn't cause you unnecessary stress, be sure to take these actions. They'll help you get through your move the right way.

Vacuum Pack Your Clothes

Clothes can take up a lot of space during your move, especially if you have a lot of outfits to transport to your new living quarters. You can save on space by vacuum packing all of your clothes before moving day.

This will require you to purchase a vacuum packing device, which isn't that expensive. Once your clothes are placed into the appropriate bags, this device essentially sucks the air out of them until your clothes are fully compressed. Transporting your clothes will be much easier this way because you won't have to deal with as much surface area.

Move Fragile Items Early On

Chances are, you have some fragile items that you don't want broken on moving day. You can prevent this from happening by setting aside some time to move these fragile items days in advance of the move.

This way you can take your time loading and unloading each item to ensure damage doesn't occur. Just make sure you thoroughly pack fragile items, especially if they're made out of glass. Before placing them into moving boxes, make sure there is ample padding and cushioning for adequate support.

Work with a Full-Service Moving Company

If you have multiple rooms filled with a lot of heavy possessions, it's a good idea to hire a full-service residential moving company. They can coordinate this entire process, from packing up your personal belongings to ensuring they're placed in the right areas of your new home.

Not only do these full-service moving companies save you a lot of time and stress, but they will prevent you from getting injured. These companies have access to specialized equipment -- such as heavy-duty dollies and carts -- which drastically reduce the lifting effort when transporting heavy items. Additionally, these companies often provide storage facilities for any items you're not sure what to do with just yet.

Prepping for a move can take a lot out of you mentally and physically. The important thing to remember is to work smarter, not harder. Only then can you get through this move calm, cool, and collected.
